Hbb-b2 MGI Mouse Gene Detail - MGI:96022 - hemoglobin, beta adult minor chain

Homozygotes for targeted deletions of both adult hemoglobin-beta genes die perinatally. Heterozygotes are anemic with splenomegaly, elevated reticulocyte numbers, abnormal red cell morphology, and iron accumulation in liver, spleen, and kidney.
