Homozygous null or knock-in mutations of this gene lead to embryonic death associated with growth retardation, vascular defects and hemorrhage. Surviving mice homozygous for a knock-in allele show impaired lymphangiogenesis, ascites, reduced weight, and resistance to Ras-driven skin tumorigenesis.
