Mutation detailsThis allele follows the meiotic cre-mediated recombination between the Pcdhatm13Tyag and Pcdhgtm1.1Tyag alleles. The Pcdhatm13Tyag allele has a loxP and FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette followed by a myc-tagged Venus fluorescent protein gene cassette inserted into the 5' end of the first exon, alpha1, of the first gene in the cluster, Pcdha1. The Pcdhgtm1Tyag allele has an IRES, a lacZ gene cassette and a loxP site inserted into the 3' UTR of the last shared exon, gammaCR3, of the cluster genes. Recombination between the two results in the complete deletion of the Pcdha, Pcdhb and Pcdhg clusters and the Slc25a2 and Taf7 genes located between Pcdhb and Pcdhg, as well as the inserted Venus gene and neo cassette.
