• bleomycin- and tamoxifen-treated mice exhibit increased collagen in bronchial alvealar lavage (BAL) fluid, alpha-SMA+ cells, total cell numbers (including macrophages and lymphocytes in the BAL), and exaggerated features of pulmonary fibrosis compared with wild-type mice
• however, late stage cellular inflammation and mortality are not affected
