Mice homozygous for a kinase dead allele exhibit background sensitive lethality, motor neuron degeneration, defects in diaphragm innervation, progressive muscle weakness and impaired pre-tRNA processing. Mice homozygous for a globally targeted allele exhibit complete embryonic lethality.
