Homozygous mutant animals exhibit elevated serum triglyceride levels and are resistant to fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, and gallstone development when fed a high fat, high cholesterol diet. When fed a Western diet homozygous mutant animals exhibit elevated HDL levels.
