• Kiss1 neurons (neurons labeling for GFP) in the arcuate nucleui (ARC) of ovariectomized adult females express a hyperpolarization induced cation current (h current) and a transient Ca2+ current (T-type current) which are pacemaker currents, mRNA expression of Cnga1 (HCN) and Cacna1g (voltage-dependent calcium channel, T type, alpha 1G subunit) which underlie pacemaker currents, and show NMDA-induced burst firing activity; these data corroborate findings in the ARC of guinea pigs
