Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence, Modified regulatory region)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intergenic deletion

Tg(Tyr)SpotNpln expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsAround 17-20 copies of a tyrosinase minigene (consisting of the Tyr distal enhancer in reverse orientation upstream of the proximal promoter and complete Tyr cDNA) replaced a 353-bp sequence in an A830082K12Rik intron near Nr2f1 and A830082K12Rik silencer Tg(Gt(ROSA)26Sor-EGFP/Arrb2)1Svs transgene, but that transgene is not expressed does not seem to have integrated. Insertion of the transgene disrupts the silencer activity, leading to increased transcription of the Nr2f1 and A830082K12Rik genes in neural crest-derived cells, including enteric neural crest cells (ENCCs) and Schwann cell precursors (SCPs) of E12.5 embryos. This Spot line was generated in a forward genetic screen aimed at identifying genes with key roles in neural crest cells. (J:236786)
