Homozygotes for targeted null mutations exhibit reduced numbers of peripheral CD8+ T cells, impaired TCR-mediated activation of both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, increased numbers of IgM-secreting plasma cells, and severely impaired NK cell development. Defects in cardiac neural crest cell migration and double outlet right ventricle are additionally observed.
