Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit abnormalities in B lymphopoiesis and hematopoiesis, often die prematurely, show increased mortality following lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus infection, and develop an inflammatory skin disease involving CD8+ Tcells.
