Mutants inheriting maternally a targeted disruption of this gene exhibit elevated serum and tissue IGF-II levels, overgrowth, organomegaly, kinky tail, polydactyly, heart defects, edema, dyspnea, imperforate vagina, reduced fertility and perinatal death.Survival is influenced by genetic background.
