Homozygous disruption of this gene causes early embryonic lethality. Mice heterozygous for a gene trap allele show increased resistance to LPS-induced lethality while cultured immune cells display blunted LPS-inducible cytokine secretion and impaired activation of TRAF-mediated signal transduction.
