Mice homozygous for a targeted mutation exhibit hydrocephaly and most die between 1-3 months of age. Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit partial lethality with decreased body size, decreased forebrain size, delayed neuronal migrationand reduced neurite outgrowth.
