Male mice homozygous for a null allele show higher luteinizing hormone and testosterone levels, early sexual maturation and enlarged seminal vesicles; females show higher LH, estrogen and progesterone levels, early sexual maturation, enlarged uteri, a prolonged estrous cycle and increased fecundity.
