Homozygous null fetuses are small and die perinatally, whereas heterozygotes are born at the expected Mendelian ratio but show decreased survival through weaning. Mice homozygous for a kinase null allele exhibit neonatal lethality, arrested T cell development, and impaired adipogenesis.
