Mice with a transmembrane domain point mutation have no overt phenotype but fail to mount a normal cytokine response and exhibit increased susceptibility to mouse cytomegalovirus, Lysteria monocytogenes and Staphlococcus aureus. Antigen presentation by MHC class I and II is impaired.
