Severe loss of function at this locus causes embryonic lethality. Mice homozygous for a hypomorphic ENU-induced allele exhibit thrombocytopenia due to impaired megakaryocyte maturation and platelet shedding, and develop autoinflammatory disease associated with defects in neutrophil function.
