Homozygous null mice show stunted growth, lymphocyte and neuron apoptosis, faster apoptotic cristae remodeling and cytochrome c release from mitochondria, dyspnea, cryptorchism, reduced testes and epididymi, kyphosis and premature death due to progressive cachexia sustained by multisystemic atrophy.
