Nullizygous mice generally show no overt phenotype. Homozygotes for a null allele show strain-dependent embryonic lethality and growth arrest associated with altered apoptosis and cell proliferation, impaired neurogenesis and myogenesis, failed embryo turning and heart looping, and thin myocardium.
