Male mice hemizygous for a kncok-out allele exhibit chromosomal instability, Trp53 activation, increased embryonic tissue cell and brain apoptosis, developmental arrest and complete embryonic lethality, whereas heterozygous females are born at sub-Mendelian ratios and show reduced female fertility.
