Homozygotes for targeted null mutations show increased sensitivity to LPS-induced shock, defective phagocytosis of apoptotic cells, lupus-like autoimmunity, degeneration of photoreceptors, decreased platelet aggregation and protection from induced pulmonary thromboembolism and thrombosis.
