Homozygotes for a null mutation exhibit lack of motor coordination, tremors, limb paralysis, enlarged ventricles, photoreceptor degeneration, vacuoles adjoining capillaries of brain stem, thalamus, striatum, and spinal cord, and death at 17-18 days of age.
