Mice homozygous for a conditional allele activated in skeletal muscle exhibit impaired exercise endurance with abnormal mitochondria. Mice homozygous for another conditional allele activated in male germ cells exhibit abnormal mitochondrial morphology and arrested spermatid maturation.
