Nullizygous mice show inactivity of all molybdenum-dependent enzymes, slow weight gain, weakness, curly whiskers, hair growth and skin abnormalities, altered levels of purines, uric acid and S-sulfocysteine, bladder and kidney stone formation, increased neuronal apoptosis, and postnatal lethality.
