Mice homozygous for a gene-trapped allele are early embryonic lethal. Heterozygotes show congenital heart defects including abnormal heart apex morphology, subaortic ventricular septal defects, double-outlet right ventricle, bicuspid aortic valve, aorta coarctation, and patent ductus arteriosus.
