Female mice homozygous for a knock-out allele display advanced skeletal muscle development during embryogenesis and advanced skeletal muscle regeneration after cardiotoxin-induced degeneration. Male hemizygotes exhibit increased differentiation of primary cultured skeletal muscle cells.
