Notes
  • Experiment
Molecular lesions associated with Tk1 gene inactivtion indicate a loss of genetic material on Chromosome 11. Tk1 mutant cell lines with varying degrees of deleted genetic material were analyzed for polymorphisms of 60 Chromosome 11 microsatellites. Therewere 21 microsatellites showing polymorphisms between the two Chromosome 11 copies (11a/11b). If a microsatellite polymorphism did not exist in Tk1 mutant cell lines having two copies of Chromosome 11 this would suggest loss of genetic material near the Tk1 locus. Analysis of selected mutants indicated that D11Nds7, D11Mit42, D11Mit48 and D11Mit49 mapped near the Tk1 locus.
