    Enox is located approximatley 10kb upstream of the Xist gene on mouse Chromosome X. Enox produces a non-coding heterogeneous transcript. One of the splice variants was identified in the mouse expressed sequence tag database (I.M.A.G.E. clone I.D. 0348136). The Gene contains 5 exons wwith exon 5 is highly homologous to mouse gene Ebag9 and may represent processed pseudogene. Enox and Xist are transcribed in opposite directions
