Morophologic analysis of myeloproliferation disorder in Ly6atm2(RUNX1)Grau/Ly6a+ mice

neoplasm
• skin lesions progressed to squamous cell carcinomas in 3 of 23 mutants by 1 year of age

hematopoietic system
• at 9-12 months of age splenomegaly is seen
• at 5-8 weeks of age there is a slight but significant decrease in myeloid progenitors in the bone marrow
• at 9-12 months of age bone marrow myeloid hyperplasia is seen
• at 9-12 months of age extramedullary hematopoiesis is seen
• at 9-12 months of age an increase in peripheral blood reticulocytes is seen
• polychromasia in peripheral blood
• at 5-8 weeks of age there is a slight but significant increase in WBC count
• at 9-12 months of age an increase in peripheral blood neutrophils is seen
• extramedullary hematopoiesis disrupts the follicular architecture of the spleen
