• fewer than expected heterozygotes are found at E5.0, E5.5 and E6.5 with the expected ratio found only at E3.5
• Background Sensitivity: backcrossing to C57BL/6 for multiple generations resulted in a increased frequency of survival heterozygotes, with the proportion of heterozygotes increasing from 25.56% in F1 mice to 46.67% in F10 mice; however backcrossinf to 129/Sv did not increase survival
