• Background Sensitivity: fewer mutants show lethality by E12.5 (44% and 13% in the F2 and F3 generations, respectively) on the CD-1 background than on a 129/Sv or C57BL/6 background
• the number of viable homozygotes (F3 generation) decrease with gestational age, but 2/3 reach term
