What results can I expect?

The Quick Search tool returns a result page with a list of and links to any genes, markers, or accession IDs in the MGI database that contain your entry.

Sometimes, the summary report displays an accession ID section with the indication No results found. This is because the tool regards the following patterns as possible indications of accession identifiers:

So, for example, if you enter CD117, the tool not only returns a link to the MGI gene detail report for Kit, but also an indication that it found no accession ID in the MGI database designated as CD117.

The query has timed out.Your search is too general.Refine your search by being more specific. As an example, entering only one or two letters of gene name is liable to cause your query to time out. If the timeout is a result of a network problem, try executing the query at a later time.
