What the map shows

This map provides an overview of rat orthology information plotted against the MGD consensus genetic map for the mouse. Next to each mouse chromosome is a set of histograms, each corresponding to a rat chromosome. The chromosome number is displayed immediately above the histogram. Each bar in a histogram is positioned at the location of a nonrecombinant bin in the mouse map. The length of the bar indicates the number of rat/mouse orthologies found in that bin.

Where to go from here

To obtain more detailed information, the map provides the following options:

• Click on a mouse chromosome to retrieve a detailed orthology map of that chromosome.
• Click on a histogram (near its baseline or on the rat chromosome number) to retrieve a compact tabular listing of all the rat/mouse orthologies for that pair of chromosomes.
