Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show increased T cell proliferation in response to various stimulation agents and natural antigens, enhanced homotypic adhesion, transient resistance to melanoma growth and metastasis, and decreased susceptibility to experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
