Homozygotes for one knock-out allele die from E10.5 to birth and those for another one exhibit embryonic growth retardation, abnormal neurogenesis, and neonatal lethality due to respiratory failure. Hypomorphic allele mice develop systemic lupus erythematosus-like phentoypes.
