Mice homozygous for a gene-trapped allele display malformations of the notochord and caudal vertebrae and may exhibit caudal tail kinks. Mice homozygous for another gene-trapped allele have malformed caudal vertebrae and intervertebral disk abnormalities; about half display kinked tails.
