Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele are normal and fertile. Mice homozygous for knock-out alleles of Sh3gl1-3 exhibit neonatal lethality, respiratory distress, absence of gastric milk, abnormal synaptic transmission and abnormal synaptic vesicle recycling.
