Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit delayed embryonic development, impaires somite formation, failure to initate turning and lethality between E10.5 and E11.5. Mice heterozygous for the allele exhibit kyphosis, decreased thoracic vertebrae numbers and missing rib.
