Males hemizygous for one null allele show reduced fetal cardiomyocyte proliferation and postnatal cardiomyocyte numbers. Males hemizygous for another null allele die in midgestation with craniofacial and heart defects including cardiac hemorrhage, chamber dilation, thin walls and poor trabeculation.
