Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show increased body weight. Mice homozygous for a gene-trap allele die shortly after implantation with defects in early embryogenesis. Homozygous deletion in adult mice causes premature death, intestinal epithelium atrophy, and abnormal mitosis.
