Homozygotes for a null allele show partial lethality during fetal growth through weaning, growth retardation, spermatogenic arrest, and premature death. Homozygotes for a hypomorphic allele live longer but are small and sterile and display small gonads, spermatogenic arrest, and abnormal pregnancy.
