Homozygous null mice exhibit slow postnatal weight gain, reduced fertility, decreased food intake, decreased susceptibility to hepatic steatosis and diet-induced obesity, increased energy expenditure, altered lipid homeostasis, high levels of amino acids and spermidine, and an extended life span.
