Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show an age-related lean phenotype despite increased food intake, lower plasma levels of glucose and cholesterol, decreased fat storage in WAT, altered fatty acid oxidation, increased energy expenditure and respiratory quotient but normal physical activity.
