Mutation details: LoxP sites were introduced to flank exon 4, which contains the DE polymerase motifs conserved in all Y family polymerases. Cre expression mediated excision of exon 4 in ES cells, resulting in the direct splicing of exons 3-5. The out-of-frame junction would introduce a stop codon and therefore a truncated protein of 102 amino acids. (J:98037)
