Mutation details: A PGK-neo cassette replaced the promoter and exons 1 through 6. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of transcript in extracts isolated from the stomach and skin tissue of homozygous mutant mice. Western blot analysis confirmed a lack of encoded protein and normal levels of other alcohol dehydrogenases in homozygous mutant animals. (J:56168)
