Caption Purkinje cells (PCs) degenerate over time in Afg3l2tm1Arte/Afg3l2tm1Arte Tg(Pcp2-cre)2Mpin/0 (Afg312PC-KO) mice. Vibratome sections of the cerebellum were collected at various time points from Afg3l2tm1Arte/Afg3l2tm1Arte (Afg312fl/fl) and Afg3l2tm1Arte/Afg3l2tm1Arte Tg(Pcp2-cre)2Mpin/0 mice and stained for (A-D) calbindin to show progressive PC loss, (E-H) IBA1 to detect resting and activated microglia; and (I-L) glial fibrillary protein (GFAP) to mark reactive astrocytes.
