• the expansion of a monoclonal B cell population in these mice is indicative of leukemia

immune system
• spleen size is increased with age due to the emergence of a monoclonal B cell population
• as mice age, a large population emerges of monoclonal B cells preferentially expressing the wild-type allele
• these monoclonal B cells are larger in size and number, and have clumped chromatin with little cytoplasm
• as mice age, the number of B cells in the blood increase due to the emergence of a monoclonal population
