Mutation detailsThese mice were generated by producing animals carrying the Evx2/Hoxd1tm4Ddu allele and another targeted Hoxd allele Hoxdtm5Ddu which has a loxP site between Hoxd11 and Hoxd10. Cre recombinase was introduced via the Tg(Sycp1-cre)4Min transgene, resulting in a crossing over between the loxP sites in the two alleles during meiotic prophase, inducing deletion of Hoxd11, Hoxd12, and Hoxd13. The Hoxd11/cre sequence is now located in the original genomic position of the deleted endogenous Hoxd11 locus. (J:82530)
