Mutation detailsThese mice were generated by producing animals carrying the Evx2/Hoxd1tm4Ddu allele and another targeted Hoxd allele Del(2Hoxd4-Hoxd13)30Ddu which lacks Hoxd4-Hoxd13 and has a Hoxd11/lacZ fusion gene upstream of Hoxd3 with a single loxP site between the two loci. Cre recombinase was introduced via the Tg(Sycp1-cre)4Min transgene, resulting in a crossing over between the loxP sites in the two alleles during meiotic prophase, inducing deletion of Hoxd3 to Hoxd13, as well as the Hoxd11/lacZ fusion gene.
