Homozygous mutants show impairment in Morris water maze test, reduced brain and olfactory bulb size, hypoplasic corticospinal tract, abnormally distributed anterior pituitary cell types, and neuromuscular junctions defects. Homozygotes for a null allele exhibit age-dependent retinal abnormalities.
